We have not put up a Christmas tree for Mika the past few years because we were concerned Mika or the dogs might get hurt (We had not put up a tree for a few years before that because her sister and brother are grown).
We had intended on putting up a tree this past Christmas, however I have apparently misplaced the tree box. Santa was kind enough to decorate the fireplace before he left Mika's presents and this video shows Mika getting distracted from the task of opening her presents to explore the mini ornaments scattered around the fireplace.
I found this cute felt Christmas tree that hangs on the wall and comes with hook-and-loop fastener ornaments. This can be a good alternative when you do not have space for a full-size tree or when you completely forget where you put the tree nine years ago.
